How do Latinos vote?
Though the Republican Party has sought to win over Latino voters over the years, the majority of Latinos vote Democrat. Obama has attracted even more Latino voters than past Democratic candidates. When asked “Which party has more concern for Hispanics?” 45 percent of Latinos say the Democratic Party, while only 12 percent say the Republican Party. Thirty-three percent say there is no difference between the two. During the 2008 election, those figures were even more polarized: The majority of Latinos — 55 percent — said the Democrats had more concern for Hispanics, while only 6 percent said the Republicans had more concern.
