Which candidate do Latinos support?

The polling group Latino Decisions and Spanish-language media company ImpreMedia have put out a series of tracking polls on Latino voters’ opinions and presidential choice. This chart, from the most recent poll, shows that Obama is leading Romney by 28 percent in key states, and by 52 percent nationally.

In a blog post, Latino Decisions analyst Matt Barreto sought to explain Obama’s increasing lead.

“While Republicans had hoped the weak economy would provide an opening to win over Latinos, almost three-fourths of Latinos say they have more confidence in Obama to fix the economy. Romney’s infamous comments about the ’47 percent’ are clearly hurting him among Latinos. He appears out of touch with the average working class family.”
