From time to time, Dan Rather posts his thoughts on his Facebook page and yesterday, he posted a note about Sen. Chuck Grassley’s already-infamous quote:
“I think not having the estate tax recognizes the people that are investing… as opposed to those that are just spending every darn penny they have, whether it’s on booze or women or movies.”
Rather writes that the current Republican ethos, as reflected in that statement and the tax bill Republicans are currently ramming through Congress, is “a national disgrace of historic proportions.”
We couldn’t agree more. His thoughtful post is worth reading in full:
