Bill Moyers Essay: Calling out Super PAC Billionaire Bidders

February 14, 2012

In this Bill Moyers Essay, exclusive to BillMoyers.com, Bill calls out the billionaires on all sides of the political spectrum whose deep pockets, and self-serving ambitions, may determine the next President of the United States. They’re banking on a government of, by, and for the One Percent — Democracy need not apply.

We need to get the super pacs etc out of election & politics–need public finance of elections, shorten the time & put in place certain restrictions. I am appalled that billions will be spent & people are starving, our education system is in chaos , this money could help feed, educate & build infrastructure & fill potholes instead it is being wasted on hot air & nasty remarks about opponents.

congress’s approval rating is 10%. who are these people who approve of the 1% legislators sorry representation of the 99%’s interests?

    The
Supreme Court abused their power when
they declared “Money is free speech.”  Millionaires
can drown out the cries of hard working voters. Everyone in America should have
an equal opportunity to elect our representatives and not have cronies’ stuffed
    down our throats.

This is politics drunk on super energy drinks!  They don’t care about us all they care about is themselves. Plunder is another good movie to rent. Keep it up Bill we are counting on you and a few others.

I could not agree more! Don’t some countries only allow election campaigns to run for just six weeks?

Bill, promise you’ll never go away again. It’s unbelievable to think that you’re one of the few – I wd say only – intelligent, thoughtful person who devotes this much time to a single topic. What does that say about us?

  • Lrcaplin

Two things have to happen. The Supreme Court decision to allow corporations and SuperPacs the right to be treated as “citizens” providing unlimited funding to politicans must be reversed!
Single or at the most, a two term limits for all politicians must be instituted by an amendment to the Constitution – Serve and go back to where you came and live by the laws you have enacted!

Bill you need to take control over, and leadership of the occupy movement
