Wisconsin State Rep. Mark Pocan Elected to U.S. Congress

In January, the seat in the U.S. House of Representatives held by Tammy Baldwin will be filled by Wisconsin State Representative Mark Pocan. Baldwin was elected to the U.S. Senate.

Pocan played a prominent role in the Moyers & Company episode “United States of ALEC” — as a state senator, Pocan, a Democrat, joined the conservative organization and kept a video blog while at ALEC conferences to show his constituents and fellow state legislators what happened behind closed doors.

Pocan served in the Wisconsin State Assembly for 14 years, and, on Nov. 6, defeated businessman Chad Lee to represent Wisconsin’s 2nd district, which contains Madison.
