Hawaii is making the transition to clean energy faster than just about anywhere else in the country.

Though some states' efforts to suppress voter turnout have been rampant, others are trying to make it easier for citizens to cast ballots on Election Day.

On the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act, advocates continue to push a bill to restore a key Voting Rights Act protection. Their latest target is Thad Cochran.

A number of states have moved to expand access to the ballot in 2014. Many glitches have also developed as states implement new restrictions for the first time this year.
