Life Expectancy
In a report released last fall, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) reported that health is closely linked to the environments we live in. In a study HUD conducted following low-income residents in five major cities for 10 to 15 years, they found that those who moved into better-off neighborhoods were often skinnier and healthier than those who stayed behind.
