Occupy Labor Alliance [Continued]
99 Pickets organized several solidarity events during the Con Ed lockout in the summer of 2012 and another in support of Verizon workers who had been without a contract for a year. In October, the group attended a picket line in support of immigrant workers at the Golden Farm grocery store in Kensington, Brooklyn, who have been fighting for fair wages and the right to unionize. 99 Pickets also organized a “line clog” action in the store in which they paid for merchandise using small change, in order to halt the line. Immigrant Worker Justice and 99 Pickets worked together to organize a tour of immigrant working conditions on May Day, 2012.
