Charles B. Strozier

Charles B. Strozier is Professor Emeritus of History at John Jay College, The City University of New York, and a practicing psychoanalyst. He is the author of Heinz Kohut: The Making of a Psychoanalyst (Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 2001); Apocalypse: On the Psychology of Fundamentalism in America (Beacon, 1994); Until the Fires Stopped Burning: 9/11 and New York City in the Words and Experiences of Survivors and Witnesses (Columbia, 2011); (co-author) The Fundamentalist Mindset (Oxford University Press, 2010); and two psychological studies of Abraham Lincoln: Lincoln’s Quest for Union (Basic, 1982) and Your Friend Forever, A. Lincoln (Columbia, 2016).
