Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz
Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz grew up in rural Oklahoma, daughter of a landless farmer and half-Indian mother. A professor emerita in the department of ethnic studies at California State University, she holds a Ph.D. in history from UCLA and is the author of five books, including the award-winning An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States.
