Clinton, 2016! — the Ready for Hillary PAC
Will Hillary Clinton be on the Democratic ticket in 2016? Two new super PACs think so. HillaryClintonSuperPAC, based out of Davenport, Iowa, filed with the FEC on Jan. 10, 2013, and was soon followed by Ready for Hillary PAC on Jan. 25, 2013. Ready for Hillary PAC was founded by a George Washington University professor and longtime Clinton fan, Allida Black. In a 2008 interview with The New Republic, Black said she had followed Hillary’s career for “a good fifteen years before Bill ran in ’92, and I was for Bill because of Hillary.” In an email to the Center for Public Integrity, Black said of her PAC, “Our purpose is simple: We are ready to work for Hillary to be president when she is ready to run.” Ready for Hillary PAC already has a website soliciting donations and a Twitter account with over 50,000 followers. The website provided to the FEC by HillaryClintonSuperPAC, on the other hand, does not yet have anything on it. |
